Chesterfield College Confirms Departure Of Principal

Speculation had been mounting in recent weeks that Mrs Mcarthur (left) was no longer in charge at the specialist arts centre on Sheffield Road.

A statement released today by Frank Smith - Chair of the Corporation Board reads, "I would like to make the College's position clear in regard to recent reports regarding the absence of Mrs McArthur from the College.

"To infer that Mrs McArthur's suspension is due to financial irregularity is completely unfounded and untrue.

"Mrs McArthur's suspension from College is a management issue and will not affect any part of the excellent student experience that we offer. It is not possible to go into further detail on Mrs McArthur's situation, as it is a confidential matter.

"In the meantime the Corporation Board has full confidence in the Acting Principal Trevor Clay who will take care of the day to day running and management of the College.

"It is business as usual at the College in preparation for the next academic year.

"We now offer well over 1,000 full and part time courses across our three campuses, we've launched our new logistics and conferencing unit at Markham Vale, our Apprenticeship Academy continues to go from strength to strength and plans are afoot for a redevelopment of the College's Infirmary Road Library and reception areas, so it's an exciting time for the organisation."
